The Time Out Melbourne Food & Drink Awards 2022 are here
Sixty-eight of the best bars and restaurants in Melbourne have been nominated across ten critics’ awards and four People’s Choice Awards
Lifestyle publisher Time Out Melbourne has released the nominee list for its Food & Drink Awards 2022.
Sixty-eight bars and restaurants are vying for ten critics’ awards in categories spanning Fine Dining to Cheap Eats, Cocktail Bars to Casual Drinking Venues, with the winners to be revealed on October 14.
Presented in partnership with Tyro, the Food & Drink Awards signal the return of Time Out’s critical starred reviews, which have been given out to bars, restaurants, pubs and cafés in Melbourne since 2013 and were paused for two years due to Covid.
“Melbourne’s hospitality industry has shown resilience and has come back to life, which is why the time is right to bring back Time Out’s critical awards,” said Time Out’s managing director – APAC, Elise Bucholtz.
“Our team has been eating and drinking across the city in 2022 and there’s no doubt we’re seeing a spectacular rebirth. We are delighted to present our shortlists of the very best the city has to offer, and also to invite our readers to vote in the People’s Choice Awards.”
In addition to the ten critical awards, four People’s Choice Awards will invite readers to select their favourite restaurant, bar, pub and café.
“In 2020 we held the Time In Awards and in 2021 the Revive Awards, which were 100 per cent reader voted and attracted tens of thousands of responses,” said Bucholtz. “Our readers love to tell us about their top picks.
“For the Food & Drink Awards we are offering the incentive of an Ultimate Drink & Dining Pass to one lucky reader who votes in the People’s Choice awards, which will allow them to enjoy food and drinks at every 2022 Time Out award-winning venue in Melbourne.
“The whole purpose of these awards is to inspire people to get out into the venues, and with our awards partners Tyro we’re looking forward to giving away a golden ticket to the best of the city.”
Voting is now open. Winners in both the critics’ awards and the People’s Choice to be announced Friday, October 14, 2022.
