Extraordinary people with strange jobs star in Time Out’s new video series

Watch Time Out’s Things You Only Know If… videos and learn about some of the oddest occupations in Sydney and Melbourne

Imagine going to work each day not knowing what will happen, because your colleagues are actual ghosts.

Or picture going to work expecting to clean up after an elephant – every day. Then again maybe your job involves wearing a leotard, a giant wig and a full face of blue makeup.

It’s all just another day at the office in Time Out’s brand new, bingeable short video series, Things You Only Know If…

The series has just dropped on the Time Out Australia YouTube page and is also viewable on the Time Out Melbourne and Sydney websites and on social media.

Series One introduces hilarious Melbourne performance art duo the Huxleys; Sydney Zoo elephant keeper Joanne Maitland; and Tiffany Vaughan, who leads guided ghost tours of the eerie Quarantine Station in Manly, Sydney.

Things You Only Know If… continues our mission to be the soul of the city by showcasing the people who live in it,” says Time Out managing director, Elise Bucholtz.

“It’s part of our video strategy which includes TikTok, Reels, Facebook and Instagram, with both bite-sized and premium content showcasing things to do and fascinating people.”
